Site Terms of Use for CollegeEd® Online

Welcome to CollegeEd Online. We suggest that you read this with your teacher, parent or guardian, in case you need assistance creating your account or if you have any questions. The services, products, and information (Features) available through the CollegeEd website are provided by the College Board ("the College Board," "we," or "us") and collegeboard.org, through an agreement between the College Board and your school or school district. When you log on to the CollegeEd website at ce.collegeboard.org (the "Site") or use any of the Features on the Site, you agree to follow these terms and conditions (the "Terms of Use"). If you don't agree with the Terms of Use, then you may not use our Site. We can change the Terms of Use at any time, so you should check back here often to see if there are new terms and conditions for you to follow.

Your Username and Password

In order to use the Site you must register and create a username and password. If you are under 13 years old, you must have a parent, guardian or teacher with you when you register. When you register, you must only provide information that is true. If any of the information you give us changes, you need to tell us. We are not responsible for anything that happens if the information that you give us is not true or you forget to update the information you gave us. For various reasons we may not let someone register to use the Site; if you are having trouble registering, ask your teacher for help.

Once you receive your username and password, remember that you should not share it with anyone. We are not responsible if someone steals your username or password or if you give it to someone else to use. Please let us know right away if you think someone has stolen your username or password or if you think someone is using it without your permission.

Privacy Policy

We want to make sure that anything you tell us is kept safe. The information that you provide to us may be seen by your teacher, school, district, the College Board and Roadtrip Nation, who manages our Site. If you have additional questions about how the information that you provide to us will be used, please talk to your teacher, parent or guardian and contact the College Board. If you decide to visit other sections of collegeboard.org website, please read the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy that may apply to the sections that you visit.

What You Can and Cannot Do

When using the Site, you are not allowed to:

  • send junk email, chain letters, or other so-called "spam";
  • do anything that will prevent others from using or enjoying the Site, including sending inappropriate or threatening emails;
  • sell or try to sell anything on or through the Site;
  • transmit, distribute or upload programs or material that contain malicious code, such as viruses, timebombs, cancelbots, worms, or trojan horses, or do anything else that would stop or interfere with other people using the Site;
  • violate any laws or regulations or any other rights of ours or of any other person or company; or
  • steal anyone else's information by hacking through or into the Site or do anything that you are not supposed to do under the Rules.

Not only do you have to follow this Site's Terms of Use, but you also have to follow the policies and laws created by local, state, federal and foreign governments, and also your school and school district. These policies and laws may concern your privacy on the Internet, your privacy of school records and your Internet safety. Please talk to your teacher, parent or guardian if you have any questions about these policies and laws.

The Things the College Board Owns

The College Board owns everything you see on the Site or has permission to use everything that appears on the Site, including all the information, pictures, clips and artwork, and the format, in which it appears, (collectively, the "Materials"). The Materials are protected by U.S. and foreign copyright and trademark laws. Because we want you to use CollegeEd, we give you permission, in the form of a license to use the materials. The license gives you a non-exclusive, non-assignable and non-transferable license to use and display, for non-commercial and personal use only, one copy of any Materials that you may download from the Site, provided that you keep all copyright and other notices on those Materials. You can use CollegeEd Online, but only for yourself, and you can't try to sell anything through the Site or make any money by using anything you find on CollegeEd Online. It also means that whenever you use anything from the Site, you need to use it exactly as it appears when you look at it on the computer, with whatever notices or statements we include on it, usually a copyright notice, which begins with this symbol - © . You also agree not to disassemble, decompile, reverse engineer or otherwise change the Site or any Materials.

Using CollegeEd Site Outside of the United States

CollegeEd Online is not meant to be used by anyone outside of the U.S. If you are using the Site outside of the U.S., you do so at your own risk.

Other People's Websites

The Site provides certain links that may lead to websites maintained by others that we do not control. We take no responsibility for anything on those websites, and you use them at your own risk. If you buy anything from one of these other websites and there is a problem you must call them because we have no control over these other websites.

Downloaded Content

It is up to you to make sure that anything you download or take off of the Site for your use is free of viruses and other destructive items.
